I was reading an article about the MCPA annual meeting today. Rick Pascal was one of the speakers. The way he described the feeding business in western Canada was that it's on a 'death march'. He said he'd remortgaged three times and wasn't going to do it again. His concerns were feed, the dollar and MCOOL.

The report said the other speakers were all pretty much doom and gloom too. Is this the general feeling out there? Or just the bias of the reporter? We couldn't get to the meeting, so have to rely on news articles and second hand information.

I think we are in for a bumpy ride in the cattle industry. Couldnt figure out why guys were paying up to $1200 for bred cows late this fall.
