    Aust Crop Conditions

In a word poor and deteriorating by the day. Not sure what forecasts are but suggest 22 million tonne has mentioned, most commentators are thinking 18m is closer to the mark.
No rain significant forecast to the 10th of sept with a rise in temps next week. Some areas have livestock in crops already and obviously are past the point of no return.

Historically 2 successive droughts has rarely happens in aust.

incognito would suggest they are poor and the acreage would be small anyway, most of aust is wheat, barley canola and hay with specialty crops making way for the abovementioned crops.
Is it possible to post photos on agriville could show some crop shots now and what has happened in 2 weeks time.

Noticed your quote in a previous thread of Aussie $304/tonne and see a price of $308/tonne (in store) in today's emalt newsletter. One Canadian loonie is about Aussie $1.15 today. That puts Canadian barley at about $265/tonne adjusted for any ocean freight avantage you have to Saudi Arabia.

European malt barley is currently running about US $380/tonne (French 2 row malt barley).

Both of us are hoping for crop to sell at these elevated levels. It doesn't help when you start the selling process with empty bins.
