    * #2 13.5% protein for an Ontario inland miller. March 7, 2003 close.

    You do the math. Domestic miller is overcharged and DA farmer is underpaid.

      Where do you get that FINAL price figure?

        The inital price for #2 13.5% in central SK is $5.02. That price is after all deductions. Where are you getting your numbers from?

          What does DA farmer mean?

            Usually "DA" means Designated Area - CWB area.

                  My DA farmer return was based on numbers provided to me by a southern Alberta farmer trapped in the socialist wheat area of Canada as of March 6th.

                      Eatmorewheat;

                      I see you have been trapped by the CWB blizzard of regulation...

                      blind sided by the differences in the Canada Grain Act... the grades used in Ontario and Alberta...

                      initial payments that are unjustified (CWB Electioneering with Goodale involved) backed by the federal government...

                      To have you caught in this trap is the CWB's delight!!!! THEY WERE WAITING FOR YOU!!!

                      It is proof however... that very VERY few people actually know what is really going on... (what grade is a #2CERS 13.5 in the CWRS class this year?)

                      The lack of transparency is exactly the objective of the CWB!

                      ARE you surprised Eatmorewheat?

                        rain:

                        Tell me what is right then.

                        What is the net return for DA farmer for
                        the wheat I am talking about in :
                        - southern Alberta
                        - southern Sask.
                        - southern Manitoba

                          The title says "Canadian hard red spring prices" and the Alberta farmers price would be higher than mine as his freight rate is lower. If you are trying to make a point at least use the richt figures. My $5.02 is also INITIAL FARMGATE price. NOT final price !

                              Eatmorewheat;

                              There is a significant difference between a 2CERS and 2CWRS wheat... normally a 2CERS and 3CWRS are fairly close to the same quality.

                              We need to talk apples to apples to start at square one.

                              I have some CWRS that is 61lb/bu, 14.5 protein that you may well accept as equivelent to a 2CERS... but the CWB is only willing to pay me $70/t for this wheat... and will ask you for well over $200/t if it is delivered to you for milling purposes!

                              This is why this whole situation is very complex, and hard to understand.

                              You need a specific quality, yet the CWB grades do not specifically deal with the quality you may ask for...
