    Spinning the wheel

With the rains that brought on the hay fields, after the first cut, we just knocked down 100 acres, predicting hot weather, hoping to get it rolled up. Now this morning the forecast has changed to a day sooner of rain! The hay we cut has no fence around it so no chance of winter graze, so time will tell if it was worth the time, should average bale and a half. Toes are crossed!

Same here. We are full speed ahead after weeks of dodging rain showers. They aren't calling for rain until Saturday, but they are wrong more than right this year, so who knows.

Put a quarter section down two days ago, and with any luck it will be baled this afternoon. Then another whole quarter will go down all at one time. After that just one more quarter of hay, a few acres of second cut, twenty of greenfeed, and on to straw. The baler's not getting parked any time soon. Lol

It's sure drying down nicely these past few days, mature grass will do that. Not complaining though. Even though the hay crop is lighter this year, at least it's there.

Got it baled. And.... it rained this morning. Of course. There was hail north of us at 8 am. Unusual time of day for that. Could be an interesting day.

Good for you, heavy fog this morning so going to check at noon, always a good feeling to beat the weather.
