    Calving

Just us enjoying nice weather, have 80 on the ground and looking forward to weekend, warm stuff coming!

94 for us so far. We're getting into the last quarter. One more cold night, and it looks like smooth sailing coming. We can't really complain about anything this year either. No ten foot snowdrifts like last year! The calves are tearing around the corrals like little madmen.

Very quiet on here, have 210 on the ground, commercials have now kicked in, getting ready for our bull sale. Hope all are having the same luck!

Glad you posted your update on calving

It has been a great month of March this year to calve in for those of us that choose for farm/ranch management reasons to calve this time of year.

Kato must be close to being done also in Manitoba.

How was your season. How many calves are you "up on" this year?

Weather forecast is really showing a temp rise as we close out March.

I think we've got about a dozen to go. Only two heifers, and then we can likely slack off a bit. LOL. Actually it's been a terrific year. Only three pulls, all heifers, and one of those was breech, so there was no choice there. Four sets of twins, all alive and good.

We've got some snow going on right now, but it's not supposed to last past this afternoon, then they're calling for warm and sunny for a few days.

Can't complain at all. Pretty boring eh?

Yup. Had enough drama over the past twelve years to last a lifetime.

Make it one heifer to go now, and she's showing pretty well now. Her buddy calved this morning. After her everyone left is experienced, and pretty much self sufficient.

We are down to 75 to go, had a great full moon show, Northern Lights that the city folks would drool over. Congrats to all that have hung in there in the cattle industry! https://www.agriville.com/images/forum/icon10.gif
