    StrawStorm chopper feeding problems

We are using a Straw storm and like the job it does but it will not feed into the chopper in some conditions like decicated canola. The beater kit is no longer available.Has anyone any advice on this?

The StrawStorm chopper was tested by PAMI (Humboldt) in 1985, and issued as evaluation report #437. During the test period, there was no problems similar to yours recorded. However, the tests were only done with barley, rye, and wheat. An extended durability test was not conducted. To read a summary of this report, go to the Alberta Farm Machinery Research Centre web site: www.agric.gov.ab.ca/navigation/engineering/afmrc/index.htm If you would like a copy of the complete report, give us a call at (403) 329-1212, and we will be happy to send you one. For more help with your current problem, I would encourage you to contact the PAMI station in Humboldt, where this testing is done. They may be able to give you some advice to solve your feeding problems. Their number is (306) 682-5033. Darryl Slingerland Alberta Farm Machinery Research Centre
