    Amaranth

It has been grown in Southern Manitoba. It is usually sown in early May and harvested in late September. It may not mature completely in the Prairies' growin gseason. A frost is necessary to kill the crop so it will be dry enough to harvest. I have grown some in Northeastern Alberta. It went to flower but did not mature.
