I always include some sulfour in the mineral I feed. Keeps the mosquitoes off them and a lot of the flies!
Don at Innisfail Minerals has a good formula, will mix whatever you want.

I attach a 9 volt electric fly swater to the cows tail for the summer. Every time she swats her tail she kills multiple numbers of both mosq. and flies. You have to give it a try ASRG.Available at every Dollar Store and Cdn. Tire...Good luck ASRG
