    The Alberta Election

One thing most people don't know how ugly the Alberta election is getting. The media won't report it, the cops won't do anything!

I am helping my local Wildrose candidate in central Alberta and everday we go out and fix signs the PC goon squad wreck. Calls to the cops.....we can't do anything! Thousands of dollars worth of private property being destroyed...and they can't do anything?

Tt gets worse.....everyday the (elderly) ladies manning the phones in the campaign office get several obscene phone calls, calling them names that would make a sailor blush!

The candidate(young mother) gets phone calls calling her a ***** (and a lot worse), telling her they know where her young daughter goes to school, and smears against her husband and family! Some of these dummies are so stupid they don't even try to hide their phone numbers! Phone the cops...."oh we can't do anything in an election!"

The Wildrose head office is telling us record the phone calls, take pictures of the trashed signs.

The chief electoral officer has stated there were illegal donations to the PC party....but he won't release the names of the lawbreakers....nor will he prosecute!

It would seem there is no law and order in Alberta!

This is what we're up against. A bunch of thugs who are afraid of losing....why? What will come to light when the books are finally opened up to public scrutiny?

Similar stuff happening down here. Some newspapers won't take WR adds and a principal sends home a bash the WR rant in a school letter. Each example though, reminds us of why we are fighting for a new government. Alan Nation commenting on life during Catrina noted that society has a very thin veneer.

oh wow! I didn't realize it was getting that bad. We
had our second local debate last night. Danielle is our
candidate. The PCs had their people hooting and
hollering and interrupting the debate. The Wildrose
people I felt were very considerate.

I've noticed a lot of tension on places like Facebook.
Friends are divided on who they are voting for and it's
getting mean. I've been very open about who I'm
supporting but have stopped short of debating
people on Facebook about it. I feel that many people
have made their minds up and are very passionate
about who they are voting for.

Is that for real that the cops won't do anything
because it's during an election campaign? Maybe if
you get caught speeding you could say you were
rushing to an election forum or to hand out
        leaflets?
Speaking of Facebook my brother in law who works
overseas was posting on fb that "the last thing
Alberta needs is to elect an even further right wing
party". He is a smart guy, politically active, of urban
origin and lefter leaning but I sent him a detailed
email spelling out the critical need to get rid of the
current regime and that the WR is the only viable
alternative. He had never heard of the landbills
issue and when I spelled out that they could
extinguish the property titles or marriage license of
his friends living in the cities he was flabbergasted
and wants to run an extract of my email on his
        Facebook and blog sites.
When you see this kind of reaction why won't the
Wildrose use the social media to get this message
out to urban voters even at this late stage? I cannot
for the life of me understand why the party does
not see the merit in informing urban voters of these
issues as it affects them just as surely as it affects
        us ranchers and farmers.

If the persons at High River last night were to vote I would have put it 40% PC 40% WR and 20% undecided.

Why is it only the Wildrose signs in our area are disappearing? There are to many people on the graft from the PC that they are really worried that the money well come to the end under the a new government. We have put up signs along our propery and we have replaced them twice. Installed some wildlife movement cameras at the location that has been hit the most. Just waiting to catch the sob..

Really disappointed in the debate on CBC today - it really seemed "stacked" in favor of the PCs in the questions and audience alike. Redford seemed pretty smug and she had opportunity to talk way too much.
