Ended up with a interesting predictament last night.Check the maturity pen just after dark and there is 3 cows calved with 4 newborn calves. Nothing to hard to fiqure out here, set of twins right. The problem is one dominate cows is claiming all 4,and not letting the other 2 cows any where near the calves.To bad they didn't have code bars attached to calves so you could fiqure who belongs to who.
All 4 calves are sucking on the one old boss cow.As they are all the same color and size except one ,I pulled the small one and one of the 3 calves to the barn with the boss cow. Went back out and sprayed WD40 on one calf and on the nose of one of the other cows. Then did the same with Vickics rub the remaining cow and calf. Everyone is mothered up and doing fine. Just goes to show you some of the old timers solutions work.
