    Seeding Progress/Changes in Plans

Just a note to check to see how far you are along with seeding as fell as if the later spring is causing you to shift acres to other crops (include location as well).

Barley, canola, canary seed and oats are the crops that need to be followed most closely in terms of shifting acres.

All the way from East-Central Ontario: Our barley has been up and growing for three weeks now, been trying to plant corn for about 2 weeks but it rains hard every time we get about an hour from being dry enough to plant. Got maybe 4 acres planted yesterday, 0.5 degrees Celsius this morning with about an inch of rain and rain in the forecast for the next 3 days. We still have time to plant lots of corn here but some with a lot of acres to go in will soon start thinking about shifting pretty heavily to soybeans instead.

I posted another question on the US farm bill. I would appreciate any thoughts you might have.
