    quicksand

Does anyone know how to get quicksand out of a well? Should you use a large compressor to suck it out? drill a new well? Suggestions would be appreciated. The well is about 5 feet in diameter and 43 feet deep.
Hate to drill a new well because it is so expensive nowadays

I am a little out of my league here but if I recall quicksand defines not a particular type of sand but a condition that the sand finds itself in. I believe quicksand occurs when there is a flow of water from below. This keeps the sand from settling out and compacting. I suspect you could suck for a very long time and not clear it up unless you controlled the water source.
