Found the heifer sale results on DLMS

I bet they were not happy with how it went. Looks
like 1425 average price. Not many hit 1500 some
1300. These are in my view average sale ring
prices and may indicate the M.C. Quantock sale
is not going to average the 1700 m.c. Is figuring

$1425 a dissapointing average for commercial bred heifers? Indicates over inflated expectations or input costs if you can't be happy with that.

I have to agree with GF. $1425 for heifers is looking pretty good with where the economy is headed these days. Even though I paid about that for cows in October, I wouldn't even consider those prices today with the crap that's coming out of Europe.

Looking at smc's post and the money these guys
get for their bulls makes me think they won't quit
bulls to just sell bred heifers. Certainly more cost
to get the bulls to those prices but the end
            money warrants it.

Looking from a genetic standpoint these bred
heifer's and the calf's their carrying selling for
            commercial ring prices.

15444 you need to start following "my guy" he
              knows cattle purchasing strategies!

Kato "the guy" has said on here, (and I am
following it) never buy cows more than 2 months
              before calving!

              1) save feed
              2) interest expense, value of money
              3) greater accuracy of expected calving dates
              4) prices are high now, the only way to go is
              down
