Idiot NFU from Rimbey (grass fed cattle caught my eye)

This is one of the guys protesting the
change to the CWB. Doesn't grow grain,
really just scared he will lose his
    quota value.

I don't know how to post a hot link so
you will have to cut and paste.

Jan Slomp - Farmer / Alberta
    Coordinator, National Farmers' Union
(NFU) (Rimbey, AB) - Born and raised in
the Netherlands, landed as immigrants in
Canada with his wife Marian and three
children in the spring of 1989. They
bought a small dairyfarm in Rimbey,
central Alberta where their herd of 70-
80 cattle are raised on grass. Jan is
the Alberta coordinator of the NFU - a
    national organization that works toward
the development of economic and social
policies that will maintain the family
farm as the primary food-producing unit
    in Canada.

Why do these people feel they can steal
    our property?

A day late and a dollar short.
Try reading the canoe on bill 18 thread -it's all been discussed. He does grow grain both to feed his livestock and for sale.
Expect to be reprimanded by LWEBER for insulting someone by calling them an idiot when you don't even have the balls to print your real name.

I would never expect anything worthwhile to come out of the NFU. As for why they feel it is OK for them to steal our property, it's right in the name National Farmers UNION.

While I may not agree with everything the NFU stands for, they do some good work standing up for Canadian farmers.
I would suggest their study of what happened to the cattle industry in the last twenty years is pretty much right on?
I have met Jan Slomp and he is no idiot. A very articulate man with a lot of common sense and practical ideas.
It is a pretty sad when we can't consider any other point of view than our own?

When someone considers your property his own,
It should never be up for debate. As far as being
intelligent, articulate and full of good ideas, he
must believe it, because he knows whats good
          for us, an arrogant prick.

I wasn't sure it was him or not. At least
now I understand his point of view as to
why he wants the CWB to remain unchanged.
To protect any chance of his quota value
changing. IE to protect his property
            rights. Hypocrite.

            The CWB is Screwed

And when he threatens a minister of the crown he is not proving himself to be very smart. I hope the RCMP pay him a visit and remind him to watch his mouth in the future.

Interesting.....back in the "C18 past 153 to 120" thread you were talking about guys that spent time in jail for taking grain across the boarder. You said "they broke the law and the law won". Now I'd like to see Mr. Slomp have to face the consiquences of his action so that makes me a bully.

Quite frankly I can't see Jan Slomp saying the things he is "supposedly'", said? That was not the reading I got from talking with the man?
Was he passionate about what he believed in.....undoubtably.... just like my friends who went to jail for marketing choice. I really don't believe much of what I might read in the press (too many years of dealing with the Alberta government!)
Again......diverse opinions are a good thing....lead us all to the ultimate truth?

Exactly ASRG, If they knew the man they would know there is no-one less likely to be threatening anyone. What's the big deal though? if there was a criminal act committed it will be for the police to deal with and I'm quite happy to leave it in their hands.
Seems some of the participants here think they should be police, judge and jury. Thank goodness our democracy has slipped that far yet!

So either the press made it up (and are
libel, open to legal action which CWB
supporters seem to thrive on) or it is
true and he is a wingnut.

I will have to wait and see if there is a
retraction printed (and if there is then I
will be an ass once again)
