    scours vaccinating early

Was wondering if anybody vaccinated for scours earlier than whats called for. see we calf end Feb. should be done end Dec. but will it work if done now? easier to do now when treating with ivomec and 8-way. saves running through again any help thanks

Only if you use Jencine. Scourguard wears off after about six weeks, and you need to revaccinate. There's a supply problem with Jencine right now though, so talk to your vet if you want to use it.

      Good Job Kato

Pharmacology speaking you want to introduce the antigen (Vaccine) so that there is the highest titre right after birth of the calf when it is needed most. If you vaccinate too early the blood level titres will fall off with time and not be effective when you need it.
