    gmo canola

What is the general thinking of farmers who have planted HT canola. Will our cinderella crop become the ugly step mother? It seems to me everyone is jumping on the bandwagon to dampen HT crops and I fear farmers will be left holding the bag.

Good question. The worry that we are hearing from the industry is of a two tier system. One for conventional and one for GMO's. The line companies in particular are nervous because it implements an IP system which we are not set up for. There has been talk that ADM Agri-industries in the United States has requested all GMO corn and soybeans be segregated prior to delivery from their suppliers. I believe we will see that requirement in canola in the near future.

I have been growing gmo canola for 3 years,in which I have been happy with. But if we are going to lose markets growing it,We should take it off the market to salvage Canada reputation for growing quality food. I am ready to go back to conventional canola.
