    Raising cows!

I have this old neighbor who I help out. He has 5 cows. It takes him about half the day to take care of them! Just loves to talk cows and farming!! He is just happy as a lark if you go visit him. He can hardly walk and is in very poor health. The other day I suggested maybe it was time to quit and maybe think about moving to a home. I thought his answer was sort of cool!!! "All my life I've lived on this farm. All my life I've had cattle. The day I don't have them is the day I die! A man has to have a reason to get up in the morning." So I won't suggest it again! One day I suspect I'll find him dead(he has a really bad heart) but I think he'll go happy.
Now this is what governments and experts just can't see! They will never be able to understand the way that men like this think! And you know, I pity them, because they are the ones who really don't get it!

You can never explain to someone the pleasure of the "bumper crop" or the seeing calves born and raised. It is something I have tried to explain to people in the past.
Even quite often we take for granted just being able to visit with neighbors in the elevator or store without having a boss down out throuts for dawdling.
I just hope that more of us can hold on and keep doing this and not become one of them!
