I see the Sask government is compensating ranchers for losses incurred in the bad snow storm that hit them. $400 per calf and $1100 per cow. Does this set a precedent or have there been payouts like this before?

I feel like I am in between a rock and a hard place. I will lose half of my clients if I go against the hand out. I am hoping that there is a study or something that will show how deadly confinement and lack of natural shelter were in this spring storm. Producers with no more than 1 cow per 1 and a half acres and 20% bush with some slopes did fine. The 300 plus pairs per quarter did terrible and anyone who lost cows in this area didn't feed too well last winter.
