At least the wife makes a few bucks working the pole booth, as long as I can make money off the election why should I complain. Its all good!

I've always voted based on the local candidate, not the leader.

We had a local candidate meeting on Monday evening. One of the questions was about the gun registry and where they stood. The Conservative is against it, no matter what. The Liberal is for it, no matter how the constituents feel. The NDP'er (our incumbent) said based on the fact that 96% of our riding told him to scrap it in a mail-out survey last year, he is against it and voted with the Tories to scrap it. He said Jack was not a happy camper when he did that.

I'm voting NDP and the majority of my neighbors are too. Some staunch Conservatives around here, but most hate our local candidate. Liberals are confined to the towns and city (Thunder Bay). You can openly be a Conservative or a Socialist around here. But don't let anyone know your a Liberal.

The more I think about it, the more I think this election is just another means of slowing down the Canadian economy.

Between the Federal election and the Alberta Conservatives "regional plans" and Soviet style bills, the Canadian economic recovery has been dealt a serious blow. Perhaps this is more on purpose than one thinks. Should our economy have been left on more stable footing, our dollar would charge by leaps and bounds above the American dollar.

I think the goal of the New World Order henchmen, like Morton, Harper and Iggy, is to plunder the economies of the stronger regions of the world.

The USA is bankrupt, and their people are waking up to this sad fact. A booming economy in Canada would see a mass exodus of folks (taxpayers) from USA to Canada. As it is, the oil and gas industry is crying because they can't find enough employees.

Voting for anybody that is a member of a party, is stupid, when the party TELLS the MP or MLA how they can or cannot vote. If you have an independent person running, I'd suggest you vote for them.

How many people are saying there is no one to vote for, just those to vote against, why is that, because we are letting them dictate to us what the choices are. We should have run 10 or 15 independant candidtes with the theme that our mp has to have a voice. We have become subject to dictatorship when a 1 person or little group at Ottawa makes all the rules especially when the oil companies etc own their minds and their bank account.

In a previous election my wife and I in turn took our young son into the booth with us trying to engage him in the process at an early age. I was second and when we came out he asked (in front of several neighbors), why did you put your x in a different place than Mom?

We need to keep on electing minorities until someone worth having a majority comes along. At least with a minority government, there is some real leverage against abuse of power.

Let them keep on bickering away and not gaining real power until they get the message that they need to earn the trust of the country before they deserve to have control of it.

I'm Ok with going back to the polls over and over again, if it leads to someone waking up and getting the message that respect must be earned.
