Best grazing forage

Hi Riders2010: Back in 2000 when grain prices were really down and eastern Alberta was experiencing a drought we fenced our grain land with two wire electric on nine quarters. I seeded a oat/fall rye mix (equal) We used to get almost two years of grazing oats and rye the first year and rye would hang in until late July of the second year. We would run 50 cow/calf pairs per quarter or 150 per three quarters that we rotational grazed. The difficult part in the second year was to keep the rye from heading out.
