    Blackleg in Canola

Brad Blackwell on 22-Jun-1999 14:52 I have found blackleg infected leaves, either on the ground or on the base, of my polish canola. I couldn't see any on the stems yet. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions other than to just not look at it till harvest. It's been flowering for 10 days now and I'm sure that I'll be harvesting by the first of august again.

Unfortunately there isn't any you can do at the flowering stage of canola for blackleg. Tilt is registered for blackleg suppression up to the late rosette stage. So you will have to live with it. Next year you should consider Argentine varieties which can have good resistance (if your growing season can handle the longer maturity).
