Disc Drills

Looking at changing the air drill. Currently running a Morris Maxim - looking at replacing it with a disc drill.
Any thoughts (pros-cons) on various makes. Not married to any one brand. Looking for something priced although.

i too have been looking at disc drills. I have heard good things about the amity single disc drill. I personnally like that "concord" type packer wheel in the stoney conditions we have. Have been told they have low hp requirements. Still researching also.

Does anyone have experience with the K-Hart 4612 or the Barton-Pillar Laser openers?

Just wondering how they do at seed placement accuracy across various soil conditions and how they run in hilly land.

I ran those Pillar lasers openers this year.
Worked well and made a little bit blacker row so
my canola won't freeze off as fast in the spring.
Placement was good and emergence was much
improved from the double Barton.
Pulled it between 6 and 7 mph most of the time.

Really, nothing bad to say about them on the
4500 acres we seeded with them. Had to raise
the seed boot up after we got done and it looks
like we'll easily get another season out of the
disc.
Didn't run on many side hills, but I don't see
why they would give much trouble.
