    Measuring acres with GPS?

    Is there a way to measure an irregular field with GPS to figure out acres with some kind of handheld device? Do BlackBerries have GPS or an app to do this? What about the handheld Garmins - do they measure area or are they only for marking trails for hikers and ATVs?

    I'm not a gadget guy so any input is appreciated. Thanks!

    Yes most Garmin handhelds will figure out acres. It is fairly easy to do once you figure out how to run it. I have a Garmin GPSMap 76 CSx and a Garmin Oregon 450. You can also mark bigger rocks at seeding with it and it will take you back to it later to pick it up.
