Every Canadian should hear that 2.5 billion people will receive the vaccine before the first Canadian.
Americans will start receiving vaccine next week, as well Mexicans, Indonesians and the British.

A hard ass Liberal Kinsella, stating Chretien created the "pandemic response plan" ,,, he adds that the Harper government built and added to the plan, improving it. Then the Trudeau government came destroyed the whole plan.

Canada already has vaccine production capacity for other diseases but not for the newer Covid biotech vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer. I doubt that any country would have been able to add this capacity in just 10 months. Since almost no vaccines have been approved how do you know which one to make?

"Manufacturing was always going to be an issue globally, says Andrew Casey, the head of BIOTECanada, a national association that represents Canada’s biotechnology sector.

The vaccines Canada is looking at alone represent four different platforms, or ways of making vaccines. They represent huge differences in technology and just because you can manufacture one, doesn’t mean you can make the others, he said.

“It’s like saying to Ford’s motor plant, ‘Why don’t you make Apple iPhones?’”

He noted two front-running vaccine candidates — from Moderna and Pfizer — use a brand new technology based on mRNA that a normal facility likely couldn’t manufacture anyway. Casey pointed to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which set out to build multiple vaccine-manufacturing facilities, not knowing which type of vaccine candidate would end up being successful. Those facilities still won’t be online for another year, he said.

Trudeau said the sites that Rempel Garner referenced can’t make mRNA vaccines and have a relatively small output. They may, however, be able to make other vaccines down the road, he said."

I believe Trudeau also stated that we had the vaccine producing capacity and lost it under previous governments which was a lie. None of the plants lost almost 30 years ago had the capability to produce these super chilled vaccines.

I guess you feel Canada should have been more like Russia with a vaccine program. Russian was the first in the world to offer a vaccine, back on Sept 20 after testing it on just 74 people. Russia was the first in the world to complete phase 3 trials, before pfizer or modera completed theirs and the first to approve the vaccine for public use. How can it be that Russia is not manufacturing its own vaccine if that is such a requirement to early and fast vaccinations?

I think the lateness of the orders is perhaps the only thing that can be blamed on the Liberal government.

There was no way any government could have built vaccine production capacity in such a short time before any particular vaccine was approved. The investments would have to had started many years ago and at that time, this issue wasn't on the radar. If it was, why didn't Harper start building?

With billions of people requiring a new vaccine what is the chances that everyone is going to get it within a few weeks? Zero. Its going to take many months. How long do you think it will take the US to get it done? January? Doubt it. More likely 2022 and beyond.

In the mean time blame your favourite politician and then stomp your feet and tell us covid is a hoax or an overblown crisis! So if it is an overblown crisis like so many posters have said, why are you worried about when Canadians will get the vaccine? LOL

Trudeau does not want the vaccine here right now, its not election time yet. He needs to milk this to his majority. So its will be limited rollout, probably Toronto and Montreal first, more idiotic updates from him in front of his cottage get the media to change the narrative and take down the death ticker until he can start campaigning again in April.
