Here is what the article says:

And schoolchildren, whose lives, mental health, and education we are destroying, are more likely to get struck by lightning.

It is referring to school children when comparing to getting struck by lightning.

It was known months ago that younger people were very much less likely to die from this

Yes a complete scam, was pretty clear right from the start. Damage is done now. And Trudeau wants to hide and be unaccountable until Sept 21! Unreal!

There is some data from New York City recently on Worldometer under death rate.

          This is part of it:

Under 65-year-old (0.09% CMR to date)

85.9% of the population (7,214,525 people out of 8,398,748) in New York City is under 65 years old according to the US Census Bureau, which indicates the percent of persons 65 years old and over in New York City as being 14.1% [source].

We don't know what percentage of the population in this age group has an underlying condition, so at this time we are not able to accurately estimate the fatality rate for the under 65 years old and healthy.

But we can calculate it for the entire population under 65 years old (both healthy and unhealthy): with 6,188 deaths (26% of the total deaths in all age groups) occurring in this age group, of which 5,498 deaths (89%) in patients with a known underlying condition, the crude mortality rate to date will correspond to 6,188 / 7,214,525 = 0.09% CMR, or 86 deaths per 100,000 population (compared to 0.28% and 279 deaths per 100,000 for the general population).

So far there has been 1 death every 1,166 people under 65 years old (compared to 1 death every 358 people in the general population). And 89% of the times, the person who died had one or more underlying medical conditions.

So .09% if your under 65 with 89% of those having underlying conditions.

Less than the flu and no benefit of a vaccine. Unlike the Flu virtually no danger to children.

They made about every allowance they possible for unaccounted deaths to get it to that.

IMO that's why there is the big gatherings happening, they aren't scared because nobody they know got deathly sick.

North America is boring. Brazil is where the real action is. 16,000 new cases just yesterday. Great TV. But surprised Bolsonero is still alive.

ABC NEWS May 27,2020 "3:32 a.m.: COVID-19 cases among US health care workers top 62,000
More than 62,000 doctors, nurses and other health care professionals in the United States have contracted the novel coronavirus and at least 291 have died, according to data released Tuesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The true numbers may be much higher, as less than a quarter of the more than 1.3 million people whose data the CDC analyzed disclosed whether they worked in the health care industry. Moreover, out of the estimated 62,344 cases of COVID-19 among health care personnel in the country, death status was only available for about 57%.

The number of reported COVID-19 cases in the profession was at 9,282 just six weeks ago. At that time, the median age of infected workers was 42 and nearly three-quarters were women.
Although most weren't hospitalized for the disease, severe outcomes -- including death -- were reported among all age groups. That information was not made available in the CDC's latest report.

If you want job security and get paid decent bucks, ya gotta go for the jobs no one else wants because there is a high degree of risk. Obvious that many in the present day have come to believe the medical field is a safe profession. Not so. They are always the ones going into danger, not away. Always sitting ducks in the battlefield.

So just like soldiers, they are expendable. Maybe start teaching that to kids looking for a profession, rather than which gender pronoun to use.

In 6 months we will be told hand sanitizer causes cancer, and Trudeau will "find" millions of prostheses poor quality hands in China for us. He will save us again, this time he will have our hands and back.

                      Trudeau wins, China wins.

First we can catch it from any surface we touch, sanitizer wash down, "The CDC website said last week that COVID-19 "does not spread easily" from "touching surfaces or objects." That put it in the same category as animal-to human transmission."

Now today they backtracked because people would NOT be as TERRIFIED, so "Now, the CDC says it "may be possible" to contract COVID-19 by touching a contaminated surface and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth."

A total shit show...travellers can't be stopped, be RACIST, masks won't help, now don't travel anywhere, now wear a mask everywhere, in cars, outside even if alone, they may only help a wee little bit but will make everyone else feel better that YOU are trying not to KILL them!
