    Mexico

Looks like Mexico is performing the grand experiment in letting it run its course. I guess we will see how that works. Oh and by the way the President of Mexico is a socialist so I guess it is not a right - left issue.

On the bright side all those auto-parts will keep flowing.

Good article by HRW, While many here seem not to be able to read anything but a headline, its amazing local governments are shutting everything down anyway while the president is a complete a$$hole. So Mexico won't be an example of no action.

Tweety one country that is going against the grain is Sweden, a country that in my mind is left leaning with a well educated populace, they are endeavouring to keep schools and business open. It will be interesting to see if they succeed.

It does look like Mexicans in general are not happy with their government. Perhaps he wants to keep the drugs flowing, T.I.C.

Quite the science experiment. Sweden has a very unique culture, time will tell for all of us what was right and what was wrong in terms of action plans. Glad i'm not making them

Mexico has changed its tune closing of all non essential business and physical distancing. Brazil on the other hand says they have a natural immunity and don t need to take precautions. Maybe they won t produce as large a crop next year.

Mexicans are well aware of the WuFlu. I've got friends in Guadalajara and in Alamos in northern Sonora. Guad is the 2nd largest city in the country and Alamos is a tiny little pueblito. Everything is shut down in both places. They are ahead of our fearless leader in terms of monitoring travel and they take real pride in their local institutions. They will try to do the right thing out of pride. They're used to getting by without much of anything - they've got gardens and cheap tortillas so nobody will starve. I'd be way more worried about the BC lower mainland or downtown Toronto than I would about Mexico.

Ultimately the only defense against this flu is herd immunity. Mexico may very well get there long before we do. Old people die. Its sad but its the deal we signed onto when we got born. I'm not convinced that a disproportionate number of old people are dying this winter because of the WuFlu and anyone who claims to know those numbers yet is either lying or stupid.

                  Some perspective:
In 2018 9684 people died in SK, over 26 per day on average. over 13 per day were 80+ years old. Chances are decent you will have to wait around a long time to die in SK.

So, in the 20 or so days since the first case of covid-19(tested Mar 9)was reported about 530 people may have died in the province just going off past statistics.

No deaths attributed to covid-19 yet. I fully expect there will be some. Today's report says 156 total cases with 5 in hospital and 8 recovered.

Total patients tested 8822. Concentration based on tests about 1.77%.(this ratio is not to be applied to the total population of the province)
