A big part of the problem is that the thugs doing the blockading fundamentally don't understand the concept of working for a living. The cheques come every second Friday and they come by direct deposit. What else is there to know?

The big problem for the Indians now is that the sane leadership - and there's many of them - know that the hotheads are overplaying their hand and that public opinion is turning against them.
