Get a load of this , BC 's pipeline

    British Columbia’s pipeline!!
Vancouver pipes their sewage one km out into the ocean where it flows billions of litres per year.

Sewage Dumping in Victoria, British Columbia

The Victoria capital Regional District pumps 120 million liters of raw sewage into the Strait of Juan de ***a everyday. The sewage runs through a 6 mm screen, which only removes large solids, such as tampons and condoms. What remains are the toxic cleaners, solvents, medicines, and other contaminants that get flushed down sinks and toilets. It is then pumped through two outfall pipes, which run more than 60 meters deep, and a kilometer into the currents of the Strait of Juan de ***a. Two of Victoria’s treatment plants continue discharging sewage receiving only primary treatment. Coastal areas have the lowest levels of treatment because as quoted by Christine Wilhelmson, Clean Air and Water program coordinator for the Georgia Straight Alliance, “they have the luxury of being able to dump where people don’t see it.”

From the National Sewage Report, “The only city in Canada that still discharges all of its raw sewage and has not taken steps to improve in a meaningful way is Victoria.

We as Canadians must absolutely trust in the UN conceived , Canadian government endorsed carbon tax fanatics. Don’t look at actual pollutants in the environment lol.

This is hardly news as this information has been widely known for some time. The solution to pollution after all is dilution. BC is home to more green hypocrites than any where else on the planet and that has been the case for a long time. Who says they haven't been able to get pipelines built in BC.

It's the Vancouver and Victoria shit that's killing the whales. Keep eating vegan and you shit more greasy mess. Oh, those poor fish. I imagine the Seaweed tastes great also.

And their solids are dried and cubed then barged out further into the ocean and dumped, follow the sea gulls.

You're right though it is insignificant. It's all natural waste and it really matters not whether it's dropped in the ocean or into our rural septic tanks to be pumped out later and trucked to your local lagoon and added to the water there. Nature can handle these things.

grass , you are really misinformed on this topic. when we dive /snorkel, whatever in the ocean , the first thing they teach you is that the soaps/defoggers that people are using on their mask are causing damage as is sunscreen . can you imagine the soap/cleaners/ medicines/drugs that are coming out of a city that size ???. same as their 2000+ or - cruise ships that are coming in there this summer . they don't give a shit about the ocean . you can't have it both ways . and isn't it funny that the two cities dumping shit into the oceans/st Lawrence are the ones opposed to Alberta getting ahead . did you know they are bringing 2000 cruise ships in there this summer , that's how much they are worried about their oceans . those things are the equivalent of a floating disease .
and I think you are completely misinformed that a bunch of cities are doing it . saskatoon's is treated to where you could drink it

But maybe not in the concentration and volumes they're dumping into the oceans until it has a chance to dilute and dissipate.

Yup, then all the condoms, drugs expelled in urine and feces or unwanted medication just flushed down the terlet.....and who knows what all else....small pet birds, maybe reptiles, the kid's dead goldfish, cooking waste....

                          heres some facts grass ;
bc is by far and away the largest polluter (yes this is pollution)followed closely behind by quebec
between the two they account for well over 60% of canadas sewage dump
ironic isn't it , even more ironic that you would think its ok

Don't forget the concrete industry in Quebec....thats an environmental wonder being fully exempted from the carbon tax....actually its getting funding to sequester CO2 in cement as a sequester?????

Apparently CO2 is soluble in water.

I'd argue it's relative pollution caseih. Sure I wouldn't like to be swimming at the pipe outlet but in the grand scheme of things it's still just disposing primarily of faeces and urine onto the earth's surface the same as happens to all human body waste. Would be nicer to have it further decomposed before dumping it out by using filtration or reed beds but not really a huge problem in the grand scheme of things.
Bearing in mind that the water we use now is essentially the same stuff the dinosaurs peed in just many times recycled by the earth I'm more concerned by what farma brought up - drug residue being flushed down the toilet. Residue of birth control pills in the water supply is likely what is causing the dramatic crash in male fertility - that's the kind of thing that could preclude human survival on this planet. Another concern are the toxins and carcinogens being introduced into our water supplies/aquifers by activities like fracking - things like benzene in your water supply are more of a concern to me than untreated sewage being discharged in the ocean.
