    Grass saw a great programme

    Watched a doco last night.
About droving routes for cattle in Scotland.

Was good started in far north west and down to kinda south central.

Tough country all right and seemingly poor soil in parts

Was an interesting time when cattle were wealth. Trailing 3 or 4 year old steers off the hills in the west of Scotland down to the fattening pastures of southern England. Some of the old drove roads are still visible there - etched into the land forever like the Oregon trail or the tracks of the Red River carts here in Manitoba.

That exactly what they did moved cattle along a old route dating back centuries had to swim them in one spot.

Mallee. Started watching an Australian ABC TV series called Mystery Road set in rural Australia. Did you ever watch it? Seems pretty good and entertaining for a Canuck who briefly traveled in Australia decades ago. What part of the country is it set in? The scenery and cinematography are beautiful. The characters and story are interesting, but I have to pay close attention to the aussie accented dialogue to follow the story line. It is good distraction from a prairie winter!
