    Straw

See a lot of straw bales in fields in areas east of Regina, many look to being shipped out.
Wonder where all the demand is coming from, many local cattle farms bale extra and it eventually rots.

Ummm , there was virtually zero feed or straw in SW Sask . Hay crops in 70% of Western Canada were very poor .... there was drought conditions well before this in a very big area. That’s where it’s going

I guess too many people listening to the radio hearing how good it is everywhere it's not the reality. Drought and flooded acres late acres froze acres snow on acres it's gonna be getting late not too far off for the amount of acres left.
Young neighbors sold out cattle and gone for work Alberta got a job first week. Just had enough of the bukkshit I guess. Said they couldn't afford 90 or 100 bales and 30 bucks for straw. Didn't need the tax deferral was a joke. Just doesn't add up.
But 100 dollar acre rent does?

Pretty well everything combined has been baled here. Lots of cattle will be eating straw and barley this winter.

Southern Alberta feedlots are up here buying even asking for canola straw trying to get enough. They bed with it but also mix a bunch with silage.

Here in the heart of cattle country Hay crops were depressing second cut was nonexistent , Pastures long since ran out. Many were counting on straw to supplement Now even that prospect is looking questionable.

Straw could be the hot commodity around here since there is only a few pea straw bales made. Even if the crop comes off the straw will be to tough to roll up. We always try to keep a year ahead but only got about 2/3 of what we need for this winter. Lots of folks have nothing after the last two miserable harvests so I’m not sure what they’ll do.
