    Durum in Germany

Saaten-Union (Seeds Union) has an interesting article about growing Durum in Germany:
    https://www.saaten-union.de/index.cfm/article/9088.html https://www.saaten-union.de/index.cfm/article/9088.html

Basically talks about German's growing demand for pasta and noodles... and how in Germany acreage is lagging but growing.

Then talks about how durum provides a $150/MT premium over 'regular' wheat.

    Has some interesting graphics also.

    A note on conventions... You'll see yield posted as dt/ha I.E. 53,5 dt/ha.

A 'dt' is a decitonne or also known as a quintal (qq)... It's 100 kilograms.

    So 53,5 dt is 5.35 mt/ha. or 2.17 metric tonnes/acre or 79.32 bu/acre.

If we had any kind of competent govt or trade representatives, they would be over there trying to fill the gap with our product.

I don't know much about the durum trade, or CETA, should that CETA deal be helping with this?

CETA needs to be hung on that roll thingy you usually find near the toilet. Europe is not planning to allow imports anyways. Not now. Not ever. Simple.
