    $247 trillion global debt bomb

headlining in the Washington Post, believe it or not.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-247-trillion-global-debt-bomb/2018/07/15/64c5bbaa-86c2-11e8-8f6c-46cb43e3f306_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.c6 5146e47827 https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-247-trillion-global-debt-bomb/2018/07/15/64c5bbaa-86c2-11e8-8f6c-46cb43e3f306_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.c6 5146e47827

Could anybody survive this, even if you were debt free? Seems to me that, even if you had something left after the dust settles, government would tax it away from you, for the good of all, because at this time in history, there seems to be more socialism in the world than ever before, especially in the USA.

World wide global communism, may finally be achievable for the left.

If that happens, there will be plenty, who think they'll be part of the limousine class, but won't be. They'll be stuck with all the rest of the deplorables.

Maybe, but landowners will usually survive like they always do. People who went through WW1 and 2 survived by owning land and gold. Even when they were kicked off their land, the were united with the titles again after the war. Obviously that doesnt happen everywhere.

Check out if you really are a landowner here in Canada. Then google Agenda 21.
They are going after land ownership if we do not stand up for ourselves.. and JT loves the UN plan ...

Even if you own the land by clear tittle, you better pay you taxes on time because the municipal government will snap up your land as quick as you can blink an eye. The mill rate might be extraordinary, to keep the government working. Another question would be, can or do you have the resources to put in a crop? Fuel, seed, spray, fertilizer? Would you grow a big enough crop to cover your expenses and pay your taxes without fertilizer and spray? Anything left to live on?

To stall its rise, the Fed is*raising*interest rates. Trade protectionism compounds the problem, because many non-U.S. companies borrow in dollars. (Dollars are widely used in trade even if neither the importer nor the exporter is American.) But these loans must be repaid in dollars. If tit-for-tat protectionism dampens trade, getting those dollars will become harder. Loan delinquencies and defaults may rise.

This is the kicker. As the fed increases rates it's bullish USD. That argy peso chart previously posted..... it's duplicated in all emerging markets currencies. These countries will start dropping like flies by the konk machine. What's Draghi done? He's the sole owner of all the European debt he can get his hands on. He's the market. This crisis will be caused by a 1985 like appreciation in USD. Higher rates increase the cost to service debts. It'll take a couple years yet but like Rome the US will fall as well. World govts collapsing from the outside in. A sovereign debt crisis. It's a BFD!!

Debt schmebt....hit the reset button and start over! Live large they won't kill you for starting over....so why can't the gubermint?

Arbitrary numbers on a ledger....they can't repossess what you don't have so go on five hot holidays a year, eat like a King, spend spend spend. There's no shame in insolvency or bankruptcy anymore...live for the day!

True .... but you also didn't have 10 years of near zero interest rates(to prevent a crash) whittling away at pensions (legislated to hold govt debt as its deemed "safe") along with an influx of baby boomers hitting retirement and a declining birth rate. See the issue?

Everybody owes everybody else so the debt is widely distributed. Probably a debt jubilee and currency reset in the cards. If it goes down, we all do including the elite.

We shouldn't fear the reset because things cannot continue on the current path. How many $80k trucks can people buy.

try hiring a contractor to do a simple project once and you will be shocked at the hourly wage people assign themselves. Totally out of touch with reality.

Corrections are usually a good thing in the long run.
