Efficiently run smaller and medium sized farms generally by far have the best balance sheets and profitability.... if they are struggling it’s their own doing or a run of bad luck .
Actually same goes for any efficient farm regardless of size .
Smaller farms that don’t make changes or have not kept up with tech are the ones that need help ?? No

Taxpayers are not interested in subsidizing giant corporate farms.

One of the best things that can happen to a smaller family farm is to make enough money to stop working off the farm. Then you can invest full time energy into what you love and in the end your farm will prosper and your life will be better. A lot of farms have been paid for with off farm income but the goal is to be independent someday and give up the off farm.

Taxpayers love subsidizing large corporations....look at Bombardier, the auto industry, the plant protein industry ...all on government intravenous drips for money forever...

Government policy has been making farms larger for quite a awhile now ....the conservatives listen to the WCWGA who has policy to consolidate farms.....and the liberals listen to the investors that make farmers peasants....

Its a no win....for farmers under 5000 acres...FCC solution to a hiccup right now is to tell farmers to sell a junk of land...to a larger farmer that they are backing...its a between the lines conversation...but they are facilitating that process when they can.
