    Conflict of interest

So how does it work that the PM's chief of staff Telford's husband's firm gets a 84 million dollar contract and they say no conflict....

She was recused at every discussion of MCAP administering the rent assistance program....

There is no phucking way when she is sleeping with the guy there isn't talk of the contract and she doesnt overhear things...

No wonder she sat in the finance committee meeting with a smug smile on her face...

Why is there always a percentage of the population who will chase after shady deals? I mean most farmers I know were concerned about the state of our debt and opted not to take any FCC or BDC loans and most passed on the CERB. Why? now when there are liberal trolls lining up at the trough. Nobody has any integrity anymore.

And yes I include Bill Boyd and his shady GTH buddies.

CERB, CEBA, WE, and this rent assistance thing....are not for those who need it....these are programs that are essentially bailouts for banks and those connected to the politicians who owe some payback for the support...

And any liberal politician that is blocking finding the truth or supporting the Prime Minister in his corruption are in on the payroll ..

The CEBA 40000 loan ....is just stupid....how is it a 450 acre retired farmer who uses a company for tax purposes receives as much as a 4000 acre young sole proprietor...

Do the math and you see the discrepancy in help....plus there are farms with numerous numbered companies getting multiples of the loan on the same acres...

Some local farms will get 40000 in free money on the same farm size as a guy just getting the 40000...

Some thought went into this alright....

When programs are developed ...the only fair way is to set a rate per acre and cut the cheques on the acres....

The 450 acre farmer gets 88 bucks an acre and really doesnt need it while the young guy gets 10 bucks an acre and that person has a few bills to pay....

The per acreage payment works very well for very large and succesful farms who don't need it! Its an untargeted subsidy! Are you not a fiscal conservative?

You make a good point chuck because while I see those wannabe irrigators and existing irrigators calling themselves capitalists and voting conservative ...they are really socialists...

Imagine this.....an irrigator in the district that receives 40 bucks an acre for 5 years sits in a meeting and says he cant afford the water bill...so the government helps them out....meanwhile the arrogant phuck parks his new combines and headers along the highway....in full view....

While the combines are just a tool to get the job done ....it seems odd to say you cant afford the water bill to grow larger guaranteed crops but can afford a million in new machinery...

Too be clear...what would 200 bucks an acre in less expenses mean for your farm?????

It is said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

However, there was a recent addendum attached to that, or perhaps replaced it:

              "Power attracts the corruptible".

It has a lot of credence.

Not really....per acre is fair...as in my example the guy that least needs it gets more per acre than the guy that actually does...

40 bucks an acre would pay all the same bills no matter the size...

Time and again the lions share of of different subsidy programs often go to larger farms who often don't need it.

Target subsidies to small and medium sized farms who struggle to make a living so that we keep more farm families going. Let the big ones survive on their own without subsidies. Subsidizing big farms often speeds up the process of putting small farms out of business and drives up the cost of everything.

This is why changing governments or I put it a political correction is so important to keep governments from not getting out of hand as far as policies and inside deals.

I don't think it matters now ...the bureaucrats like Telford need to be booted as well....

The likes of the arrogant Wernicks have to be shown the door as well...

But I think there is a culture of entitlement now in politics...

The MLA , MP or minister cant be held account to their files....they do or say what suits them...

Example....not that long ago David Marit said the province didn't have the money for agrirecovery with the crop being left out for thousands of farmers....in February his letter said they were not doing any irrigation projects....now he has 4 billion to waste on 200 farmers.

Efficiently run smaller and medium sized farms generally by far have the best balance sheets and profitability.... if they are struggling it’s their own doing or a run of bad luck .
Actually same goes for any efficient farm regardless of size .
Smaller farms that don’t make changes or have not kept up with tech are the ones that need help ?? No
