Is there an Australian Agriville equivalent, or farming forum. Did a couple Australian harvest runs and it's nice to know how its going in those areas. One of the most spectacular countries I have ever visited with some of the nicest people.

Nah not really mostly twitter and few fb groups.

That’s why I found agriville unique at first liked NA viewpoint on markets. Used to be more friendly than NAT and Nat mostly corn and beans.

It’s left versus right on here nowadays I just like Ag stuff like many on here. The ole Farmaholic reckon he’s Jack of it.

Some of the stuff here at times makes ya liquid laugh.

But tolerance to all view points.

      Better check me roast lamb

        Roast good another 15 minutes.

Invited a few Aussie mates to partake in agriville.

They lasted about about 3 days , climate change loonigans better things to do was one comment.

Give it a bit longer good stuff pops up now and then but wasn’t to be.....guess one Australian on here is enough or in some eyes to many.

They mostly do the combine forum for interaction with North American farmers.

Not to hijack the thread mallee but good luck with your hip. I got a new one Jan 29, 2020. In Arizona. Was back at the hotel room with a new hip 5 hours after I walked into the clinic. It seemed a little quick but no complications and a year later there is not doubt it was worth it.

Had my left done 9 years ago getting right done now. 3 pm surgery day one, day two and three rehab in pool and physio home day 4 can stay longer if I wish private health insurance 2 Nd to top level. Been a member since 97 on this silver cover all hospital etc etc previous to that on low level cover with same company since 21. So 37 years paid my dues.

FYI my almost premium health insurance for myself my wife and one son costs $80 per week. Similar over there?

              Hijacking my own thread geez

Sounds like a good deal Mallee. We can get joint replacement free of charge by waiting in a line for a year or more. I chose to pay a private clinic and got it done when I wanted. There is no such thing as premium health insurance in Canada. That would run counter to our socialist ideals. Lol.

Public health system, a mate who lives a couple miles away had his hip done in late October. He was on waiting list for almost 2 years but covid caused it to drag out.

Premium actually $86 per week has gone up in 2021. Not sure % of population on private cover maybe 20% not sure. General public complain about it say it’s wrong elitist why should people with private get better health services etc etc. If I wanna pay it’s my prerogative. Had 20 yrs maybe paying for absolutely nothing not a single claim.

My wife’s an Instagram er. It’s a good way to get your business out there too. It’s surprising at times who follows you. In a good way. We have some businesses following us that could well end up being large customers for our lamb. Question is, do you approach them, or just let them make the decision? There are lots and lots of small farm, small animal, grain, hay, buy;sell groups that have probably more actual farm info than agriville does.

I wonder if you have less anxiety about farm policy because you basically have none? Here we often have urbanites dictating our ag policy. We have an amazing east west split in this country, and a huge urban rural divide in this country, to the point where it truly is frustrating because one size does not fit all of us, and one persons morals are not moral to another. So that may be more why we seem to complain a lot. We don’t do it for kicks. There are real issues with our country. Maybe this is not an Aussie thing as you seem to have a more unified country?

I like agriville and it is more coffee shoppish. Which for me is fine as I get other info other places. Lots of marketing stuff on here goes over my head. I feel a little lost often because most on here seem pretty wealthy, and I don’t have a lot of input into pre buying fertilizer or fuel, or grain bags, etc. So I get very lost and it gets over my head. I think we stick to what we enjoy talking about.

But misery loves company, and when so many of us feel so politically wound up, it makes one feel like your not alone in your thoughts, that the entire world hasn’t gone Covid mad, climate mad, socialist mad.

Agriville gives me hope in my fellow mankind ahem, peoplekind, because there are still some with moral decency and convictions... So I keep coming back, like any addiction.

                              Twitter

I quit Twitter a couple days after they muzzled Trump. Had close to 1000 followers. Decided to leave it before it left me. Using Agriville and NewAgtalk now. Still fairly open forums as far as I know.
