OH SNAP!! CGC OUT 1 million tonne canola

Those damn Primary Licensees reported faulty info to the CGC to the tune of over reporting canola disappearance by 1.0 million tonnes.

Time to abolish the CGC...they serve no purpose but to take farmers money and report falsehoods and mess with grades to the farmers detriment.

I don’t feel safe having them in the grain system anymore.

I feel more comfortable buying my elevator agent a fishing trip and a few bottles a year to look at my sample through...better outcome. Do you know how good a wheat sample looks through a bottle of top quality rum!

So bribery and corruption are better than advocating for an effective, objective and an impartial independent grading system? Pretty soon we will paying kickbacks to get our grain sold.

Grading is one thing ....being that far off with numbers is quite another....this isn't rocket science...a walmart calculator with addition and subtraction can do the counting....

Along with the correct reporting....there should be some asses kicked for this....

Disclaimer....i don't grow canola....but i know it can impact other commodities...

Trudeau teaches our youth that corruption and bribery is fine as long as you have a deferred prosecution agreement.....

Yes the reporting and auditing system that they are using is ridiculous. Self regulation and reporting is a joke. Where is the Ass't Commissioners Office that watched that. You know who you can thank for closing that office down.

I was chatting with a retired auditor a while back. He said in his day he could/would walk into an elevator pull all the paper work, turn stocks to weight and do grade/dockage on it all, if things didn't match or match reports he would escort manager out the door and see him in court the next time they met.

He couldn't believe how it is done today said it is a joke.

See USDA has trouble how to handle unharvested crop for world agriculture supply and demand estimate.
Also a problem here in Canada, depends on how we do with spring harvest.
Think markets generally do a pretty good job, governments maybe not so much.
