    YPF at AgroExpo

Agroexpo = biggest farm show in Argentina.
YPF = State oil company (Like petrocan or imperial oil used to be). They make fertilizer, chemicals, oil, fuel, grease, etc. They also produce biodiesel and ethanol... Along with a huge network of electric charging stations, wind turbines, solar farms, etc.

    Hi Klause,

What time of year is this farm show? It might be a nice vacation trip during our winter weather.

Have you gone to AgroExpo before?

How friendly is that part of Argentina for inexperienced farmer tourists?

    Thanks for sharing.

Used to go to its precursor years ago.

ExpoAgro has a website in English: http://www.expoagro.com.ar/en/ http://www.expoagro.com.ar/en/

All of Argentina is friendly. The country has a low crime rate, and people LOVE being social... Don't be surprised if you get invited to a few rounds of Jerba Matte, or an Assado or 4.

You'd want to fly into Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, and either use a bus, train, or rent a car to get to the site, it's on one of the major new highways (Route #9). About 2 hours outside of the city, but budget 3 with traffic. You'll be driving along the river, and all those ports I posted images of a while ago... It's an impressive site.

Rosario (the grain exchange capital) is another 45 mins north of the expo site.

Be warned, Buenos Aires is a tourist trap, and if you take your wife she won't want to leave, Ha ha.

We had tickets booked but I couldn't get time off to go this year. If spring will be late, we might yet sneak down there for 10 days.

The show's held the 3rd week of March usually. 10-16th ish.

that seems like a strange time for a farm show. Wouldnt that be during harvest?
