Little friend on the back road earlier this week. that's about the size of a size 9 shoe.

I won't sugar coat this like all the Manitoba and Sask Crop specialists. Its another Dry week and basically Zero precipitation. This is crunch time and I don't give a rats ass if the JD weather station says you have 3 meters of moisture so don't worry be happy spend spend spend.

I have one Agronomist friend who is having a hard year selling shit and advise and every second day he is either talking about ground moisture and doesn't worry etc.

Yes if the plants got established they have a potential in our area to root deep down and grow some kind of crop. But the idea that we could grow an 80 wheat and 60 canola and 100 Barley in these conditions isn't flying this year with farmers.

Rain makes grain and most if not all Saskatchewan farmers need a good slow three-day rain.

Its almost farm progress show and we might get the rain event we need. Watch the price of all crops drop. Oh, wait, the drought isn't even mentioned in most news or papers or political speeches so I guess lets all just keep talking positively.

    Ok, the Crop Report.

Seeding is finished even the guy who seeds on July 1st for feed. The organic guy is also done. Plus the crop insurance late seeder up north is working on finishing.

HRS is not grown much above ground this week but definitely, if you dig up the plant and wash roots it is going down down down. But remember boys and girls the yield is determined in the 3 to 5 leaf stage and were at that point.

Here is a picture of an HRS wheat plant I missed killing in our canola field this plant and head should be huge well it isn't.

Wheat still has a potential for a good crop but the next 10 days will tell the tale. Right now a 7.

Barley is growing similar to wheat and also has potential but needs rain. Rating is a 7

Late oats are patchy but one rain would fill in and maybe catch up.

Flax, our area has lots of flax and it surprisingly germinated very well in places and is thick, short and no one really wants to spray to kick it when it's down.

Lentils are short short short. Some are wondering how they will get them they are that short.

Peas the magical fruit. Well had a quote for $7 off the combine but have to have them harvested in July and delivered. HAHAHAHA I don't even know if there will be a crop.

Most pea fields are sprayed and again Two chemicals have done some damage. One Big field on way to the valley is extremely yellow and has issues. Cold nights and dry conditions and peas don't make for good chemical work.

Tried something new will tell you in a week if I had issues if it killed some things and results.

So far so good. Peas are short short short and need rain.

Pastures are in need of rain bad. Guys are digging water sources etc. Some springs dried up. Cows getting out were fence is no longer in standing water it's evaporated and they just walk out.

Hay will be in short supply and one dairy it seems may just silage the whole crop.

Water sources are drying up or dropping too low levels.

Canola the 3 dressed up as a 9.

To the expert from Yorkton that thinks 40 will be the Saskatchewan average. Go F#$K Your self, you pathetic fool. Sick people like you don't help the situation farmers are facing from the last week's Frosts, Flea Beatles, cool hot windy conditions, Drought.

Then these same guys wonder why farmers are so pissed off.

So Canola I Give it a 3. Why?

Patchy fields from Moosejaw to Grenfell up to Kamsack over to Saskatoon and Down Back. Someone post a picture of perfect rows for a mile would be a great inspiration.

Problems from the week are Frost, yes frost these plants some are dead some are going to make it. Problem is Fleas love the taste of frozen Canola and watch for serious problems happening. We have sprayed basically about a 1000 acres with our Liberty for the flea.

The last Friday rain event that got some of our farms has caused Canola to finally germinate in sick spots 5 days later.

So the low rating farmers understand, Some experts don't get it but they trade Canola futures so why would they want to know the truth.

It's a game boys and were not the ones winning.

So hopefully the rain event does materialize and all farmers get a good soaking. Be careful out there and watch your neighbours this is a stressful time.

Also, be very careful boating and always use a life jacket, northern lakes are so cool at this time of year you never know how fast things can go sideways. RIP my Friend.

      Politics.

Well, we have to have the worlds stupidest leader and divisive government in the history of Canada running Ottawa.

This week the premiers said banning oil tankers from West coast but doing nothing doesn't make sense. Or putting in rules that will take years for any project to get done, investment leaves.

But to this stubborn arrogant asshole running Canada, he doesn't get it. He and his liberals are the problems.

My biggest fear is that fools move to the green and NDP and JT wins again with a coalition gov consisting of the Green/NDP/Liberals.

Wow, won't that be a special time for Canada?

      Were doomed.

Oh, one other thing where I was standing to take this picture 6 ft of water was 3 years ago.

It feels like a ultra slow motion train wreck.
With cool temps keeping us in suspense.
I am so sick of hearing the word Showers in the forecast. And what ever % chance we have of them.
Must have had 12-15 forecasts with
          40-60% chance and zippo nothing.

Now I only look at the forecast every
4 days or so . Hoping for the R word
          Who needs the aggravation.

I am not going to take pictures of the best or worst 6 inches, foot, or area of a field. I could either make things look phenomenal or disastrous here, and there may be a bit of both anyway.

We are not written off yet, this crop is salvageable with some potential, maybe reduced potential, but at this point there is still "something hopeful and righteous" to be said for a change

Anyone with canola still in the bin is going to be a winner this yr. Lots of acres reseeded to barley after multiple frosts. Here we cant get it out of the ground to actually freeze. My canola is only 30% established. Crop insurance says its half a crop if lucky.

Weather network calling for an inch. Other weather outlets say chance of showers. Doesn't seem very certain there is actually moisture coming.

Volunteer wheat and hay fields tell you what's coming.....

It's not pretty....but 2019 agristability will save you....sometime in June of 2020 at the earliest.....not even possible to help by then....

I am under no "delusion" that this crop is going to be real good, the very least I hope for is my money back because I am stupid enough to try again next year!
