    It’s humid.

Well the good thing about living in this spot is that it is always cooler and far more humid than most anywhere else. Sucks in winter, but allows crops to survive and thrive in summer. Yesterday our high was supposed to be 29. We hit 25, with 85% humidity.

Today though, it was already unliveable out there at 7. Temp is 21, humidity is 94%. A heavy mist in the air. Not fog, just a wicked, hanging aura.

Terrible forecast for haying. Might have to be an august thing. I’ve cut hay in these conditions, had it sit for a week, flipped it, and it’s still wet like it was cut the day before. And that was a year with no rain forecast. Now it’s humid like that, plus rain forecast every two days for 14 days.

Wish I could afford a silage baler.

Just my meandering thought of the day.

Yup, Hard to make hay with the humidity and the threat of rain in the forecast every couple of days. Did manage to get one field baled up this evening minutes before it started to sprinkle.

Hay is going to be expensive this year though, again, twine has nearly doubled, fuel has nearly doubled and labour, if you can find it is up. Not to mention equipment prices and parts are insane.

Tried to bale hay... too tough...

      Then... hour later...
      Neighbours reported Smoke...

Baler fires... a tough part of the challenge and joys of farming! Blessing it didn't destroy the tractor... or anything else in the yard, the baler was empty. Back to the big squares for now...

Fire Dept looked... no obvious signs of bearing failure or wiring issue... perhaps round baler belts that are burn resistant would be a good idea!

      Blessings and Salutations... be safe!

What breed and age of baler had the fire?

11 Degrees is balmy around here. We had a lot of -30–40 last winter, you ought to try it just to see what that’s like.

I've pumped water at -50 and thrown pipe at +40.
Geez boys, I'll take a happy medium please. We've all got a good life now if you're older.

Thunderstorms are heading straight for the Regina area again tonight. Monday night storms dumped huge amounts around with reports of 3-5 inches in areas within the city. Farms south and east of Regina (approx 25 miles) registered between 1/2 inch to 3 1/2 inches within a mile. Wascana over-flowed it’s banks, streets and widow-wells were flooded. Farms around received over 7 inches within a week. The storms track toward the same area night after night. Ground is generally saturated. Seems as though, “when it rains, it pours like the fifties” repeats.

Hope humanity soon figures out that this unbalanced weather is Not caused by 'greenhouse gasses'... but unbalanced deception... into the belief that humanity can control creation. Rejection of the designer of life... means rejection of life itself in the final analysis.... which causes life itself to become 'unstable' and 'unhinge'. Consciousness of reality... is not a matter of atoms and time... but Spirit and soul.

The 'creativity' of humans is quite intriguing...
