    What I am concerned about....

As a farmer there are number of things to think about....

    1. The seed Tax and lack of details
    2. The Carbon tax
    3. Lack of representation on above two...
    4. The utter waste of taxpayers money without a comprehensive vision of where Canada is going...

AS an average citizen I think about

    1. Immigration....illegal or irregular????
    2. Bringing Saudi citizens to Canada won't be a political victory for any of us...
    3. The divisions that have resurfaced in this country
    4. How long to fix number 3

And finally as a Canadian why are we trying so hard to please the rest of the world....we are the youngest country on the planet with some very astonishing achievements ...

to paraphrase from the farmers creed...."I believe my life will be measured ultimately by what I have done for my fellow man, and by this standard I fear no judgment..."

Well as a country we should be fearing no judgement....

This country needs a visionary leader to get us past the petty issues...Trudeau can't do that....

When I think about the friendship Brian Mulroney and the Bush family had.....its quite obvious those two got past the petty issues for the greater good of both countries...

Flame away but there have been better leaders in this country and I wonder where those same type of people are today....even Chretien with his faults was a better PM than Trudeau will ever hope to be....

The seed tax worries me because no one has said anything about who is responsible for another Triffid event in any commodity...

Nothing to flame you for, you are correct.

Farming: not really a viable business anymore. Pays better to stack shelves at night at the grocery store. Organic doesn’t pay a premium in my area, and any premium that does exist will disappear as more farmers give the high inputs the FU.
Watch the land speculators/investors/funds flee farmland investments this year and prices start to plummet.

Country: quickly turning into an s’hole country of its own, not a big surprise when the folks come here and want to live life like in the old country. Liberalism is quickly destroying mankind. And Liberal debt. And no energy projects getting built, investment fleeing the country never to return. Cue stacking shelves at the grocery store because your industry training and experience is now obsolete.

And now Freehand greet the Saudi teen ....for ****s sakes already ...average Canadians are kept at arms length from the PM or kicked out for raising their voices ....and these immigrants get a hug....

I am not a racist but I do think generational Canadians or old stock Canadians (lol) deserve more respect than they are currently given...

If a teenager ran away from home in Canada it would take 48 hours before the police would even start looking....a saudi Teenager made it it around the world in less time ...travel free....

Call me an asshole but this is really ****ed up.

Where are those type of leaders today? Unfortunately bucket, society does not produce these type of individuals anymore, when you are given a medal for finishing last, the same participation medal as the person that finished first, there is no incentive to do any better. No better example of that is with the so called irregular border crossers, in real terms illegal border crossers. These people have committed a crime but yet they are now on the same level as those who have come to this country and pursued immigration through the proper channels. We in this country over the last 25-30 years have reverted to such a snowflake society that everyone is offended over something and we have tried to balance that out by making everyone feel warm and fuzzy and equal. You and I know that life is not fair and equal, different people start out at different levels and face vastly different challenges in life to suceed. In my opinion today's society not only doesn't foster a climate where the best and brightest can flourish but penalizes them by giving out participation medals instead of the needed help to the disadvantaged so that they too can strive to suceed. We have a problem in this country, and it is socialism, society deems it better to bring people down instead of helping people rise up. The days of strong leaders such as Winston Churchill, Margret Thatcher, Ronnie Reagen are long gone , society is to soft to produce these type of leaders. I have read somewhere or maybe it was a quote on another forum " Hard times create strong men, Strong men create good times, Good times create soft men, Soft men create hard times." This rambling has just been my own observations and opinions and is now open to ridicule and debate.

MisterJade9. I my opinion it couldn't be more true.

Every generation wanted it better for their kids than they had it.... and one day reality might slap the lastest generation in the face so hard they won't know what the **** hit them. There seems no desire to work and get ahead, seasonal employment, menial jobs, an attitude of entitlement, when the previous generation's wealth is diminshed things might get pretty ****en tough.

Too much ****en coddling these days, while the immigrants and minorities get educations to push themselves up the ladder. You're last statement is so true!

Open the ****en door when opportunity comes knocking, just don't look at it out the window!

As for farming goes, what’s the point of “working hard” anymore? I’ve been doing this for years.... like most, things to be heading south very fast.
Yes, we could see a small surge in prices, but they are so far behind the actually cost of production it’s not funny. Expenses are climbing at record levels, it looks like we always be one step forward and two steps back.

Misterjade9 ; That is the most intelligent and balanced post I have read on here in a long time. I couldn't have written it as well myself.

My only comment would be to say it is extremely unfortunate that we will have to wait until the damage from the present social mores and political correctness is painfully apparent before we can muster the social will to correct anything.

And as for the quality of politicians in general and of course their leadership, this can hardly be a surprise to anyone. Who in their right mind, assuming that they are a capable and intelligent person would ever be stupid enough to take that job. God himself would have at least half the people against him!

                  Mr Jade Neun,

Add to your list the social rot created by the the ever so popular "victim status", seems everyone is susceptible...the perfect excuse.

Some people are victims of their own personality!

                    No bigger worry than this, except maybe nuclear war but that might come anyway;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=724_IvcgK-w Americans losing Jobs to Artificial Intelligence and Immigrants

                    Then read how your govts want to ramp up immigration;

https://www.newsweek.com/canada-plans-welcome-more-1-million-new-immigrants-over-next-three-years-us-1287787 Canada Plans to Welcome More Than 1 Million New Immigrant

Summary; more than 800 million jobs will be lost in the world a full 40% of workers. All while we are fed the narrative we need more workers. We are going to end up with a bunch of pissed off people with nothing to do.

You have to aske yourself what do politicians do. They cater to people to retain power and the larger group they can cater to, the better. Its not secret our demographics are collapsing. People in the west forgot to have kids for a couple generations. 2 income families, DINKs, feminists, divorce laws all killed the family unit. And we wonder why nobody listens to us? This might be our own fault.

Be sure to count all the new $100,000 special edition top of the line diesel trucks at the farm shows owned by all those non viable businesses.

Can’t afford to attend the circus shows, can you get a count for me? Ignore the trucks with the Cargill, CPS, Bayer, etc stickers in the windows.

I think we're in between the last two "times" you quoted, in Australia as well. Definitely overburdened with bureaucracy and post turtles.

I have two children and 16 nieces and nephews between the ages of 20-34, your above statement couldn't be more inaccurate.

From what I understand you have children of your own, would you be describing them in your above statement? I doubt it.

Better yet let's ask all Agriville posters if you described their children. Again I doubt it.

Please don't feed me the B.S line that your referring to the urban young people, because how would you know that living in rural Sk.

Have a bit of faith, you were a young punk in some older guys eyes at one time and look how you turned out!

Forage, the comment definitely wouldn't be all inclusive, but I stand by my comment. Maybe I'm just a hard-ass with high expectations.

As for how I turned out, that would be a matter of opinion.

No formal education, out of highschool I worked part-time from fall to spring for 9 years and at home at the same time and farmed full time in the summer. Then quit to farm fulltime. Read lots but never learned anything...lol.
