    Air Canada????

Praised by Bill Morneau for using the CERB and government programs to help them out and keep their employees ....

Holy shit ...they are going to close the air space and there won't be a lot of planes flying nor should people be travelling and subsidizing a company like that ....why?

Billion dollar profit last year and it couldn't go a month without government help...

Meanwhile viable industries like agriculture are completely ignored in the whole scheme of things...

Just let them fail or tell them to borrow on their assets....if there are any?????

Doubtful they will have many assets that could be considered usable collateral. Air travel is going to experience a years long slump all over the world. Any equipment and facilities associated with it will have no value unless alternative uses can be found. Pile grain in hangars?

If the government just pays these employees to stay home, along with countless other industries, the central bank itself will be insolvent before long. Not sure what jobs they could retrain for. Even if they retrain, they will likely have to accept big pay cuts. Then comes the housing bust.

In France and Scotland people are taking the foreign worker jobs....not in Canada ....they will take the money Billy and Justine hand out while others do the work...

Air Canada needs zero money from government ...they should re-tool to suit the demand for their services....

But nope ...its Quebec based ...it has to be taken care of....just like the dairy industry...

How long until Bombardier & SNC-Lavalin get another payment?

It would be very confusing for Justin if Suncor Energy and SNC-Lavalin traded head office locations, the PM's head would hurt when he was writing the cheque, and probably have to phone a friend.

Air travel will be very quiet for a long time .
Not sure either one should of got bail out, nothing against the workers but the government paying the wages , to do what ?

My question is, now that they have been rehired and if they have already applied for CERB or EI will they be automatically removed from those two programs?

No... would be my guess...airlines are an essential limo service for politicians. ..

Remember ...was it Freeland that had her car pick her up at both airports.....so she could fly between the two?
