My solution to the healthcare mess would be to introduce health insurance co pay system just like many drug plans do now. Pay 10 or 20% out of pocket with balance reimbursed by insurance. This would focus the system on the patient as a client and also make cost reduction necessary. Would protect most from potentially high health care costs at the same time. Private clinics and private insurance would also be allowed and encouraged.

#1 civil service needs to get back in line with the private sector, excluding the resource sector as they are the worst offenders. There was a time where a gov job was less pry but secure now its secure with high wages, we need to stop giving % increases as the more you make the more your raise
Unions I think they need to be overhauled in the way so no one can go out in sympathy for other branches
II think the gov should get back in the business of, shipbuilding, military equipt, aircraft, we had all those and employed our own people now we employ other countries
Health care doctors need to be doctors instead of referral agents
quit changing accounting practices every time we change govmts
Limit deficits to no more than your mandate, trying to cover your ads ,by passing it on to the next gov
And finally YOU WILL HATE ME but fair taxation I somewhat agree with the new proposed corps tax changes, its those that are very wealthy that benefit from the tax rules, the average Joe has no escape those making mid to high 6 figures really don't need a tax dodge legal or not What would you like 50% of a mill or 100% of50,000.think about that

          1. Abolish the Indian act. Start fresh. No more free goodies, houses, education, etc. This is 2017. Time to get over the past and move on. We need proactive chiefs to be heard, prosperous Indian reserves to be emulated. Let the chips fall where they may, it needs to end. Once full blending happens, crime will drop immensely, and future budgets will reflect this. We all need to get past our past, and move on together, the segregation and goodies based on race must end. Racism would end if we were all actually treated as equals, not like it is now where some are more equal than others.

          2. You do crime, you pay. No voting, no early parole. Prison is prison, no video games and lollipops. Prison equals hard, productive labour for the benefit of law abiding citizens. Automatic life for murder, no questions asked. Citizens must have the right to defend their property, we must have property rights. If I am threatened on my farm, I need to have the right to protect what is mine, with whatever force needed to alleviate the threat. No questions asked.

          3. Deficit financing is not allowed, unless there is a serious economic crash. This goes along with and includes, enormous cutbacks on spending. We do not need the cbc. We do not need to spend on the latest gay gig, transgender crap. Bilingualism is toast and would save us billions.

          4. The Muslim threat needs to be taken seriously already. No more sweeping under the carpet. No more payouts to terrorists. We need to beef up our intelligence and secure our land from this threat.

The above, must be done. But it won't because no one has the nerve to follow through. The media, and the urban set will howl if we reform any of these things...

          But I can dream, right?

Is there something that would be the most important to you that you'd like, say, to get done or changed or improved? Priority. Pars
I listed least important, because that is my perspective on government intervention into anything, the less the better.

              But since you asked:

              1) Completely overhaul the tax structure in order to encourage ambition, businesses, entrepreneurs, and all hard working people. This will also attract "socialism refugees" from the world over, employees, businesses and entrepreneurs who are being driven from their own countries by exorbitant tax rates, regulations and corruption. I'd be in favour of completely eliminating income tax, personal and corporate, replaced with consumption taxes, sin taxes, luxury taxes, death taxes, inheritance taxes and user fees. The first country to recognize this is going to attract the best and brightest, and they will bring their education, wealth and technology with them, being late to this party will not be an option, it will be too late.

              2) Eliminate, simplify, or reduce regulations and red tape with the same goal as #1.

              3) Make health care a priority, this is the only business government should be in. When anything is offered for free, demand will always exceed supply, but rationing the supply with waiting lists, is not the answer. There needs to be incentives to take responsibility for your own health. Spend much more on research and prevention, actual health care instead of sick care. All of us need to change the way we view health spending, society thinks it is acceptable to go into debt to buy a home theatre system to improve quality of life, but refuse to spend a dime to maintain, improve or repair our health. Two crisis's occurring simultaneously, Automation and technology are putting people out of work, and health care needs and capabilities (with associated costs) are increasing exponentially. There doesn't need to be an artificial shortage of trained professionals who charge accordingly, when there is a large unemployed labor force. Health care truly will consume the majority of our GDP at some point, and employ most of the healthy people and it probably is possible to do it. If 1) and 2) are implemented, we will have the productive workforce to vibrant economy to afford it.

              4) Outlaw all public sector unions.

              And I agree with sheepwheat's #1 suggestion.

As much as everyone wants the CBC gone....you have to remember that they are the ones that dug deep on the bill boyd corruption after being handed the file....not even the ndp wanted to dig....

And it seems they don't care which party they piss off ...Terry mileski asked Jim Carr about the excuse he used for the cancellation of energy east by asking that the application was put in when oil was 45 dollars a barrel. ...

I agree that a billion dollars is alot for them but who else does independent investigations here. ...

                  Lisa laflamme?

I could do without Neil Macdonald commentary....

                      Priorities

I pretty much agre with Farma's priorities, but would add this as my number one:

The salary for our prime minister should be similar to other top executives remuneration.
Otherwise we don't get top applicants.
Professional athletes are overpaid in order to keep them sanitized from illegal activities.
The old adage "you get what you pay for"
