Everybody knows that this will be a major problem but it will not be talked about much. When you need to find opportunities to grow your business but don't socialize much good luck. From now on any socialization is totally illegal. You can't legally meet with your landlord right now. What frightens me the most is the psychopathic idiots that are using covid to feed their need to control and suppress others and there are a lot of them here in canuckistan. It’s been a problem around here for quite a while already. I know a few personally that have gone that route and it’s horrible for the rest of the family. If anyone ever needs to talk just send me a message. There is alternatives.

Biggest issue around here lately is divorce. Just going over the list for Christmas calendars and the amount of “revisions” is way higher than normal.

A 40ish male nurse at the RA hospital in Edmonton. Wife was a psychiatric nurse.

One more, not sure if Covid related.

Have heard it is becoming an issue and can understand and beleive it but you got to compare it to a baseline. Article says 17000 so far this year but the last annual total they list is 20,000 so not really much different. Same problem with everyone's argument they always try to make the numbers fit the headline.

Mental health gonna be rough for lots through the holidays I'm sure, hopefully it doesn't get out of control.

Maybe you should tell the entire story such as Japan has one of the highest suicide rates of any OECD country. That the number of suicides in Japan in 2019 (before Covid was) 20,169 and this is down from the 30,000 plus suicide deaths 10 years ago (2010) so the number of suicides this past month are not a whole lot more than what has happened in any of the last 10 years.

And please provide the breakdown between suicides caused by loss of job/income due to shutdown compared to number caused by loss of job/income due to Covid sickness or death of a wage earner or loved one in a family. Until you can provide this comparison you are simply fearmongering.

However, the data reports that B.C. was the only province to record consecutive weeks of excess mortality in August and September, logging 807 additional deaths during this time.

The increase in excess deaths in B.C. may reflect increases in the number of deaths due to accidental overdoses, according to Statistics Canada. The province’s Chief Coroner's Office has reported increases in deaths due to overdoses since the start of the pandemic.

Males accounted for over two-thirds (69 per cent) of this excess in B.C., with men under the age of 65 accounting for approximately one-third of deaths. Over that same period, B.C. reported less than 40 COVID-19 deaths.

StatCan says these figures are an important indicator of both the "direct and indirect consequences” of COVID-19 and the health measures put in place to help address the pandemic.
