For all the anti-Trudeau hate remember Canada was aiming to become the first G7 nation with a bilateral trade deal with China. If it is so easy why has no other country achieved it, nor any previous Canadian PM?

Grass it would of got done if the idiot wouldn't of asked or pushed China to follow the Canadian way and hug a thug and embrace returning isis fighters and all hold hands and sing.

Thats why we don't personally hate our Pm we just wish he had a brain.

Your correct grass it's astonishing that trade for our crops and livestock hasn't been the priority decades ago. No it isn't easy. But when your the smaller player population wise to go there and lump How many months an employer has to allow for maternity in with trading ag products is going to be a stretch. However they did manage to open up livestock markets more than it was. Maybe livestock guys can comment on whether that was a major or minor deal.

Trudeau thinks he's king of the world and can dictate gender equality, economic policy, climate BS and Muslim Love to the world giants - give me a break! They must just burst out laughing as the door slams behind him. Canada could be great but this is really sad to watch as our nation shrinks. It is impossible to move forward with leaders that are consumed by petty trivia rather than grand vision.

Trudeau would do well to ask world leaders like Trump and Ying what they think he could do to make Canada great. They would tell him to really allow equality-no special rights, quit with the gender preference, quit wasting taxpayer dollars. Get to work building infrastructure to encourage free-flowing trade across and in all directions, build a pipeline, two, three as quickly as possible (good grief, the private sector will pay for them), allow joint running rights and expand national rail transportation, toss out all these useless regulations, forget this BS climate garbage, half the size of civil service and centralize it in Canada(not in New Brunswick), stop preferential treatment and special group entitlements. Drain the swamp and let her rip!

Minor deal big wheel. Like Ritz flying around the world "opening markets" it's all BS. Government is not in the business of selling beef, nor should they be. Beef goes where Cargill and JBS can make most money selling it. As such we have no "Canadian beef industry" for a Canadian Government to speak for. With over 90% of slaughter capacity in these 2 companies there is no competition so even if there were a huge increase in exports to China there would be no need for these companies to pay an extra cent to farmers to get the cattle.

If you're going to have trade talks, then talk trade, access, tariffs etc. if we attached human rights to trade issues we wouldn't trade with the Saudis, Iran, many Eastern European countries, even the US (Gitmo).

As far as gender equality, now we stray into culture and telling another country their culture is wrong. Oh wait, isn't Justin telling us Canadians that too?

China needs Canadian exports. If you give in you will never be respected. It is the art of the deal, but not Trump style. China is more about climate change than other countries because they are running out of clean air clean water and clean soil. You could bend over and take it but it would only be a short term gain.

It’s Tuesday and the tears he is crying might be actually real as he flys home a failure on all trade. Walks out on Japan deal and finally someone sends him home
