Typical western sask spring living on 2/10s and what snow we had. Missing everything lately. We will get it up but with 2 more weeks of hot. The June rains better come early. Good thing crop insurance is set tó pay pretty good this year. Cant imagine those that had little snow and nothing since

Lentil stubbles are dry for top inch, really dry despite the fact much land around is too wet to go.

Edmonton area. Hell of an early start this year, Apr 26 for us. The earliest I heard was someone starting Apr 17. Seeding corner to corner, including holes we never seed through. Fortunately for us a few storms rolled through last week giving us 3/4" of rain to jumpstart the cereals and get moisture close to the surface to seed the canola. Seeding a bit deeper than we'd like but ground is mellow and the moisture is about an inch down. What I haven't done is cored deep to see if the moisture goes all the way. Forecast is dry dry, so we better get some rains, but so far it's been an easy go. Feel for the guys in the opposite situation, I know some areas are just getting started.

A few of the early guys will be finished early next week. Most 1/2 to 2/3. This time next week most will done barring a major rain event .

Plugging along here. Between the dust and the smoke it’s hard to even see the fert cart!

Got around an inch here in the storms last week. Can’t really tell other than the grass is just a little bit ahead.

Forecast here changes 3 times a day.
Seem to be forecasting 3 to 4 tenths over the coming week.
Hopefully get a thunderstorm with a good downpour.
Grass seems to have stopped growing as it went from too cold to too dry.
Had a few little misty showers that hardly ran off the roof about 10 days ago.
Moisture has been perfect for seeding so far.
More dust behind equipment than we have seen since direct seeding started.

Son finished seeding canola on land he couldn't even get on last spring. He's in a better mood. I sowed corn plots again for corn rep that got drowned out last year a week after seeding. She lost over half their plots last year so things going better so far. We are over the hump as far as seeding go's.
