    Ukraine "on the ground"

    Mate is over there.

His views a year on similar but not the same.

Ukraine will and determination has altered not one bit , russian will same there doing it cause they have to not want to.

At times you wouldnt know theres a war then distant shelling gun fire give a stark reminder. Or you go to a different part of country 15 kms away absolute devastation.

His words its a game of attrition at moment russia just keeps sending in troops to get mown down, reason to exhaust supplies of ammunition and word on the ground his words not mine russia is succeeding in that regard.

The 5 week campaign is now 12 months old , no resolution of victory in sight for either side.

Russian along the border returned to russia early on and vice versa urkrainians just inside russian border re entered ukraine.

Suprisingly he said appears to be food and water for all just electricity the issue but springs coming.

Turning point soon is on the minds of all he said a russian offensive if can be held off a huge outcome for ukraine conversley russian gains more territory victory for putin.

Another "off the cuff" comment many think putin may well be replaced by years end win or lose by a even more hard liner. Thats local talk there i guess.

Some military analysists claim that a war of attrition is exactly what Russia intends ( after the initial failure of a much grander strategy).
That their stated goals of demilitarizing Ukraine is exactly what they say it is. It is not a battle for territory, as much as a battle to destroy Ukraines future military abilities. Destroy the equipment, the NATO equipment, and the armies. Then leave a demilitarized zone between Russia and NATO. Tragically for the Ukrainian military age people, it appears Ukraine is playing right into this strategy.

Anyone analyzing the current events from the perspective of territorial gains and losses is missing the bigger picture. If the numbers out of Israel are even close to correct, then the Ukrainian losses are on the order of 10 times those of Russia, from a population 1/4 as large to start with, then the attrition strategy is effective. But as I have said repeatedly, I don't believe the propaganda coming out of either side.

Not my opinion, but one I have read multiple places lately.

yeah we are all arm chair observers with no idea really.

Your mate might still be watching too much CNN because thats not the reality on the ground.

50,000 Ukr troops are trapped in a pincer movement in Bahkmut and are now trying to retreat out of there. Yes the casualty ratio is 8:1 in favor for Russia. Ukraine is forcibly conscripting 16yr olds. The main russian army hasnt even crossed into the disputed regions yet. This is all Wagner group, heavy artillery and drones.

There are a bunch of foreign fighters who thought this was a call of duty or a replay of iraq now back home as disabled amputees.

There are several towns in the vicinity of Bahkmut that once are taken by Russia, its clear sailing to Kyiv. The tanks and jets arent coming, they never were. There isnt an airfield in ukraine left to launch planes from anyway.

And on top of that, the western money and support is about to dry up as the US house takes up the Ukraine Fatigue Bill.

This neocon adventure is over. Afghanistan 2.0 except Russia will make sure all the left over weapons are scrap or bundled up for sale to the chinese.

re losses yup who really knows pro ukraine say russia has double ukraines losses pro russia exact opposite.

but my farmer thinking, if ukraine losses are as high as some suggest it should be well and truely over by now.

people talk about violations of minks agreement etc both sides violated it withing 12 months .

not sure if i mentioned it above fuel is a issue for both sides but moreso for general population of ukraine

And War Mongers are excited? Keep phucking with the Nutcase with the RED button.

"For the first time since Chernobyl in 1986; I am fearful about food supply from nuclear fallout. There are things going that is being kept under wraps that we won’t know about until it is too late. The US has moved Russia to a level 4 threat this week and ordered all Americans to leave – that is the first time that has happened since the invasion began."

"Warships in the Russian navy's Northern Fleet have been deployed with tactical nuclear weapons, the Norwegian Intelligence Service said in a report released Monday. The intelligence agency noted the presence of the weapons on the vessels in its annual report. It is believed that this is the first time in 30 years the fleet has gone to sea with the nuclear weapons on board. "A central part of the nuclear capabilities is located on the North Fleet's submarines and surface vessels," the report said. The Soviet Union's Northern Fleet warships often went to sea equipped with nuclear weapons during the Cold War, Politico reported. But the latest development reportedly marks the first time the Russian Federation has deployed the ships with nuclear weapons. Norway's report also detailed the increased importance of nuclear weapons for Russia now that the nation's defense budget is set to increase by 34 percent in 2023. (NEWSWEEK – FEB 14)"

The U.S. military is the world’s largest and quite capable. It is well trained and equipped but realistically it’s the projection of strength which is their biggest advantage. If they have to act they better make a job of it or lose that. Russia North Korea Iraq etc try/tried the same game and it works on a smaller budget with an adequate propaganda effort. As well if you’re buggering around with neighbours a few scary boats or bomber sorties helps on a budget. Your poor ass low educated populace can build artillery shells indefinitely ideal for terrorizing said neighbours. Just heard today Russian bombers were making incursions into American airspace over Alaska. Now nuke boats by Norway. Come on Jazz you think going ***** in a Neville Chamberlain way is gonna work? Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh figured so. Put your head in the sand, get hoodwinked by foreign propaganda, and get caught on the back foot when the inevitable happens. Definitely there needs to be restraint shown but being a ***** to Putin or Xi gives them license to keep going.

One guys over there filming for a news network here.

Been there for 4 days when I wrote it.

Not a cut and paste he passed on some observations.

Personally I didn't see it as pro Russian pro Ukraine.

Hes a camera man he films he doesn't write the stories.

He doesn't like spin manipulation in left wing or right wing media but he can't change that.

He uses the "cocaine" interview with president Zelensky as example how it was stitched together and sound over added blind Freddy could see it. PS ive never seen it. Must have been done a few years back dunno.

Any way have a top day chaps 6am here better get some breakfast cya

Jazz, were you one of the 10 million applications WagnerPMG got from thier ad in the USA?

They don't need any more prisoners from the gulag to replace the ones they have been using as cannon fodder.

Yevgeny has reviewed them all and will only be taking about 1 million of them.

                      Training is fairly basic.
You just run towards the Ukrainian lines till you get shot. That indicates the approximate Ukrainian position and they drop in an artillery barrage on top of you.
Very effective as long as you can get volunteers.
