              August 1 -31 weather Forecast:

The Temperature map got the Precipitation map added to it by my camera…. Interesting superimposed map…

              US drought map

Markets down, especially Soybeans, Chinese factory output came in significantly lower than expected… stalling their economy…

Oil down, Soybeans very much at risk… but if world economy is in recession… and Russia allows Ukraine to export… last week’s grain price increases will evaporate…

                Only down 70 cents /bu right now…

                US $ down to 105.7…

A good day to be short grain…

                P.S.

Observation that there has been close to an 80% correlation between Crude Oil moves and US corn, and about 60% for US soybean recently. WTI down $4.85/barrel today.

So Tom, the only cooler weather window is Aug 16-23.
I suppose we've had frost that early in the past. Not likely though,,, unless they change the description to "Much Below Normal"

Aug. 20 2004 froze hard and turned all the wheat into 2.00 feed wheat.

Aug 20 this year would be ugly!

Agreed, I never forget that frost , most of us won’t .
And our Sask crop spokesperson at the time said it was just lite patchy frost in a few low lying areas. She should have been fired within a week of that , completely clueless. It was nearly western Canada wide and devastating for most farms . Frost kills

Full Moon is August 11. That seems too early to freeze but maybe a month later (would be way better).

Most likely within 3 days of the September full moon

Oh Ya, I remember,,, I bought a New Combine on Aug15th to harvest a beautiful crop!!!

Combined a Section of durum, basically for straw management, dumped about 3 hoppers in a slough, and burnt it. Pile had about 6-700bus of fluffy empty durum seeds, not worth the fuel to deliver to a feed mill, 45 miles away. Canola was a little earlier, straight cut it, but ended up with around 20-25% green. A beeatch to store, and get rid of !
