    September 11th election call

So I'm sitting here today thinking that of all the days Trudeau could have called an election, why would he choose the 11th of September?

And then Bob Fife drops a globe and mail article into my Twitter feed saying that the RCMP have been actively investigating and interviewing individuals in regard to the possibility of obstruction of justice with respect to JWR and the SNC Lavalin Scandal.

Best part? They're obstructing an RCMP investigation into obstruction of justice by refusing to wave cabinet confidentiality, thereby sealing the lips of any of the witnesses queried by the RCMP.

Surely, Telford et al. knew this story was going to drop...

How to damage control this thing?

    Drop the writ, and
1)force the RCMP to suspend an active investigation into a politically sensitive matter lest they be percieved as politically biased.
    2) get ahead of it and attempt to control the narrative tomorrow. Suffocate Fife and the G&M article by starving it off oxygen in the short term.

    F U C K!

Well what can I say. If there was nothing to hide this would have gone away in February. Time to dig a little deeper into the Admiral Norman case as well. I can smell the stink all the way out in Alberta from Ottawa.

Who ever makes the decision to lay charges in the SNC scandel will be considered " gutsy " to say the least, but as Trudeau has said," we must maintain the rule of law in Canada ", so indirectly he has given the nod to prosecutors to proceed with charges.

CTV News reports that a Nanos Poll reveals that 35% of Canadians feel that Trudeau was either justified, or somewhat justified in breaking ethics rules in the SNC-L affair. 7% unsure 52% of Quebecers support breaking the rules to “save jobs”

So much for being a moral country. I don't have high hopes of the Liberals being shown the door. If it feels good, do it, seems to be our identity.

If the average guy would have contacted a judge or prosecutor in a legal process, he would already have had numerous questionable dates in the shower room at the local penitentiary by now.

All this talk about ethics, and yesterday global news revealed over the last 4 years 4.5 million of taxpayer dollars was spend by MPs for spouse air travel. 6 MPs spent over $100,000 for airline tickets for their spouses; 5 of whom are Conservative MPs. Only 1 ex-Liberal made the list - the hero of this forum: Jody Wilson Raybould. Eleven more MPs spent between 50,000 and 99,999 and of those 6 were Conservatives, 1 NDP, and just 4 Liberals. Ethics is not a new problem or just a Liberal problem. Jason Kenney when an MP once charged taxpayer's $6,000 to fly his mother from Calgary to Ottawa on this same program and is now Premier of Alberta.

I wonder if distance to the Hill has anything to do with it. Or if they sat in committee.

I am trying to figure out how that is remotely related to a groping, lying, idiotic, law breaking prime minister?

It’s not but dmlfarmer would like to change the channel when Skippy is in the limelight with his scandals, right out of the Liberal playbook.

Interesting to see how aggressive the RCMP get in these two obstruction of justice investigations with Trudeau.

Do you think maybe there is a connection between travel costs and distance to travel?? Gonna be cheaper for a liberal MP in Ontario to travel to Ottawa than someone from the other end of the country. Just saying maybe you need to look at the whole picture. All the examples in the image are AB and BC representatives.

It is cheaper to fly from Vancouver to Ottawa than from Saskatchewan, Manitoba or NFLD yet those provinces are not on the list. Airfare is based on competition and demand for seats, not just distance.

Second, Wilson-Raybould spent 3 times the amount that another cabinet minister from another Vancouver metro riding charged. So much for this being just a factor of distance.

And an NDP MP also from Vancouver area spent $0.00 of taxpayer money over the last 4 years on designated travel. So I put forward it is more the ethics of the person using/abusing the program than it is based on distance. I cannot agree with you more, we need to look at the whole picture and not just distance from Ottawa.

No, you are missing the point. This is what we end up with when we only demand accountability from one side. Cry all you want about Liberal ethics, the other parties are equally shameful and this was just the latest example. It is the reason why the west will never get respect because the Conservatives knows they have the west vote wrapped up so they do not have to do anything to earn the vote out west. Most western Canadians do not have a clue as to what the Conservative platform is, yet support Scheer (who??) simply because they want Trudeau out. Abuse of the system is always the result when you vote against something instead of for something.
