Some retired relatives drove to Regina from Victoria in their EV. They aren’t so sure they’ll do that again. It took them 4 days. I asked how many stops to fill. She said that they needed refilling 7 times. Hours were wasted as they waited hours for charges. Adding to the challenge was the tension of not easily finding compatible electric connectors to charge with. It sounded like constant aggravation made it an “ unforgettable” journey. As they came West they experienced a head-wind that subtracted forward momentum. Oh, just give me tried and true gas pumps. ( 1372 km in 4 full days )

Yeah but most trips that vehicles make are 50 km or less. Almost every electric vehicle is capable of that daily commute

For road trips you can take a hybrid or ICE vehicle untill the charging infrastructure and battery range improves which wont be long.

Ford is building a low cost EV truck that will be ready in the next year or 2. Chinese vehicles are already coming that will out perform.

Chev's Silverado, Hyundai and Kia, Tesla all have 500 to 600 km range options with older tech batteries.

You can fast charge a lot of vehicles in 30 minutes.
