Interesting some of the huge mining operations in West Australia business as usual the big ones that employ 3000 plus at each mine no issues and people have questioned why and how.

Info coming out last few weeks they actually have 4 months worth of fuel stored that gets topped up daily some suggesting well why doesnt rest of australia work like this good question easy answer simple they cant afford to hold stocks and haven't got infrastructure. And govt wont hold fuel.

You better start looking for a EV downunder.

tRump's stupidity in Iran is driving the EV market much higher. They are selling fast in many markets and interest is soaring.

The 1972 energy crisis drove conservation and efficiency.

Chuck2, are you going to hook that EV to your air drill and seed the crop? Have you got your Canadian made EV on order Chuck2? Oh I forgot there are no Canadian made EV’s, or solar panels, or windmills! Damn Canadian manufacturers must be anti-science!

Is all your farm machinery made in Canada Hamloc? LOL

And did you get all your fuel and fertilizer booked before the price run up Hamloc? I sure hope so.

Because the price of fossil energy might not come down so quickly as you might hope.

Meanwhile my solar energy will be the same prices as before tRump made another really big and stupid decision.

Meanwhile my solar electricity is the same price before tRumps stupidity. And it will power a mid sized EV for about $2.00 for every 100 km.

Whats it's costing to drive your diesel truck a 100 km this week Hamloc?

Let me guess, at best a fuel efficient diesel truck is about 10 L per 100km that's only $20 per 100km. A steal of a deal.

If you drive a mid sized SUV on gas that gets 8 L per 100km that will cost you about $14 per 100 km.

Hmm ......$2.00 vs $14 per 100 km? Which is a better deal?

Hmm, let’s see now, your going to charge this mythical EV with your solar panels? So your only driving at night? Have to charge it during the day lol!

Actually my 4 wheel drive tractor is a Versatile, so yes Canadian made as is my seed drill which is a Flexi coil.

In your science based world Chuck2 do you farm organically and cultivate your land which releases carbon or do you practice zero till which utilizes fertilizer and sequesters carbon?

              Question for Landdownunder.
Do you have any political parties as far out in space as our NDP? How much support?

Even Nenshi has disavowed the new federal ndp leadership.

Perhaps it's true that every revolution eventually eats its own children.

My Solar panels are grid tied and it doesn't matter when we use electricity for anything night or day, because we produce more than we use. I get a credit for extra electricity because someone else uses it if I don't.

I haven't had a significant electricity bill for a long time. But you still have to pay for the system which amounts to about 8 cents per kwh.

Landownunder lives in country where solar electricity is so cheap that starting July 1st they will give you free electricity for 3 hours a day.

Most EVS and ICE vehicles are sitting in parking lots at work during this time and could be charged by free solar power.

Starting 1 July 2026, the Australian government will launch the "Solar Sharer" scheme, mandating energy retailers to provide 3 hours of free daily electricity to households in NSW, SA, and SE Queensland.
. This initiative aims to utilize excess daytime solar energy between 11 am–3 pm to reduce peak demand later in the day.

"People who are able to move electricity use into the zero-cost power period will benefit directly, whether they have solar panels or not and whether they own or rent, and the more people take up the offer and move their use, the greater the system benefits that lower costs for all electricity users will be," Bowen said.
